It took me awhile to get past it, though learning more on Nylicia and Zexistr was interesting. Most was due to me really excited to read more of Eve and Zen. Once that bit passed though the book flowed smoothly.
At this point I can't really say who is controlling the destinies but I will say they have a crap ton in store for Eve and Zen. Evesse goes through her change into a goddess and is able to control Mavrak, the other side to Zen. Zen's biggest challenge in this book is merging his two halves, he doesn't want to relive what he's done when he was Mavrak, but that soon was taken out of his hands.
Eve and Zen fit well together and not just their powers, they both went through some traumatic events in their lives and both heal each other a little at a time. I can't see a better god for her. The sex is hot, the love is stunning, the friendships are entertaining, and the tragedies are heartbreaking.
All wrapped up together they leave you with an emotional high that I'm sure will last for days! The world that is being created is one that is complex and captivating, every chapter leaves you wanting more. There is so much to look forward to in this series that it hurts to wait for the next one.
I'm eager to find out what happens next! War is on the horizon, be prepared. Grab this series and be ready to be swept away into a world where not every thing is black and white, and love can heal, and gods and goddesses roam the universe. Blood Stained Tranquility by N. Isabelle Blanco is the second book in the Ryze series. This is Evesse and Zeniel's story.
I will say with having such a hard time with the first book, I was very hesitant to start reading Blood Stained. But I'm glad I stuck through, because I enjoyed it. I liked it a lot better, and felt a deep connection between Evesse and Zeniel. Isabelle Blanco depicts a world full of Gods, Goddesses, and most of all Prophesies. Lot's of action, and adventure. The love story Blood Stained Tranquility by N. The love story within was very beautiful to read.
But other than that, it was a good read. This is the second installment of this series and I am on fire. It's so good. I love these types of genre books. Looking forward to the next one. Jan 04, Amber J. Book 2 in the Ryze series did not disappoint! I loved Eve and Zen's story. The internal battle Zen has with himself adds some intensity to the entire story.
Not to mention the insights into Nylicia's back story and other main characters possible love interests. I can't wait for book 3!!!! Duality, passion, complementarity, trust In the first volume, I fell under the spell of Evesse and Zeniel. The conflict that existed within the god of Tranquility and the sharp tongue of the young woman who had put some spice into the story and sharpened my curiosity.
So, I was excited to discover the sparks that explode with this great couple. The author did not disappoint me! The narrative is volatile, tender, sensual, sexual, and always in motion.
The same Duality, passion, complementarity, trust The same ingredients that had attracted me in the first volume, between Ismini and Dyletri, were intelligently reused and have captured my interest and make me turn the pages. But they go through trials that lead them to accept themselves without judging, support and assist each others in the battle. Although, Zen inadvertently hurts Eve, it is often the case in real life when a woman meets an ex of her boyfriend: jealousy, insecurity It was well pictured by the author.
I love as the author mixes reality with fiction with these characters. The thirst for revenge, guilt, fear of disappointing, jealousy, betrayal, forgiveness Great topics!
All these gods are flawed with weaknesses and doubts despite their extraordinary powers. And even if we dwell on the two heroes, the secondary characters attract attention and pique the reader's curiosity. Nylicia is intriguing.
Ok, the fact that these gods have cute badass and possess some incredible sexual prower play a lot in their favors! Lol I also had a big crush on Mavrak. I found him more tender, endearing and sensitive than Zen despite his habit of wanting to beat out the crap of everyone!
My main complaint in "Blood Flows Deep in the Empire', the first installment of the series concerned all the strange worlds references, the gods names and the many details that had brought some confusion and slowed down my reading.
In this one, it was not the case at all. I was very quickly immersed in Niddy Isabelle Blanco's world and univers. References and strange names have less bothered me since I expected them. I continue to be impressed by the author's imagination that mixes mythology, science fiction, scenes of intense sex with beautiful fighting and super sexy humor. I can not wait to see how Ianthen will overcome his perilous relationship with Soleria View 1 comment.
Terrible Gods, cosmic forces and relentless, consuming passion align in this second book in a series that devours the reader's mind. The writing is as complex and rich as the relationships between the Gods and the universal energies at play. Sometimes is a bit convoluted, tending to be obscure or obsessive about the same predicament. On the other hand, it reflects really well the characters' inner struggle, the power of their suffering, and the stormy inevitability of their desires.
The main femal Terrible Gods, cosmic forces and relentless, consuming passion align in this second book in a series that devours the reader's mind. The main female character, Evesse, has to deal with the monstrous aftermath of the traumatizing final event in the previous book, where she was the friend of the main character there.
Even though she and her mated, frenzied dual God of Tranquility aka the God of Vengeance lead the story, there are other characters whose torment and lovers in the making are equally strong and appealing.
Animalistic, violent lust rages through the pages. And it's awesome! They banter, they reminisce past wrongs and future fears, they flaunt their dark beauty. Brutal in their natures, they battle their vicious side with ferocious displays of power. On the down side, the plot doesn't seem to have a specific purpose most of the time. It's just a bunch of things happening to a bunch of old and new friends who happen to be Gods. On the bright side, it's wildly imaginative as complex immortals fight, evolve, materialize, love, hate and suffer in a haze of fate and lust.
I particularly liked how Eve and Zen have to deal with the most frightening side of themselves in order to be together. Their fierce lovemaking was epic in all ways :-D Exotic Gods, painfully tested mating bonds, monstrous beasts, apocalyptic war and slyly orchestrated plans by a seeress mingle breathlessly in this paranormal dark romance. It's a pity the ending comes so abruptly, but there's always hope for the third book.
This is the second part of the Ryze series and it gets even better than the first, I didn't think that was possible. The author did a phenomenal job of making this storyline come to life. There is so much information and yet she still made it all blend together without losing the story. All of the characters from before are there again and I found myself falling a little more in love or attached to every single one of them.
While this is a continuation of the first story from where it left off, This is the second part of the Ryze series and it gets even better than the first, I didn't think that was possible.
While this is a continuation of the first story from where it left off, it primarily focuses on Evesse and Zeniel, but all of the characters play a part in the story because united they all influence the outcome of what will happen. Zeniel, is the God of Tranquility that is in battle with his other half Mavrak, the God of Vengeance. Evesse, also known as Eve, is one kick-butt female. Even when she becomes the balance to Zeniel by becoming his voice of reason as the Goddess of Justice, she does it with compassion and genuine love.
Whereas Zeniel wants to hide that half of him that he considers evil, Eve wants him to embrace it. She loves the bad boy as much as the tenderhearted man she first meets.
They have hands down some of the steamiest scenes that I have ever read in a book. All I can say is that Eve is one lucky girl because she gets the Alpha man and the gentle soul all the time. She basically gets to have her cake and eat it too. So many questions were answered from the first book but for every one that was answered another two would sprout up. All I can say is this authors imagination is one of a kind. She takes it, along with her world building to a whole new level.
I cannot wait to see the next chapter of the story. I especially want to read more about Nylicia and to see if my thoughts on Zexistr is right and Solera and Ianthen. There is a lot of characters left. I cannot wait to see them hopefully all get there interconnected stories. There always seems to be someone in the background remaking or reshaping your life. Its called the fates, they call it your destiny. Can you even imagine. When I first read this story I had thought it was crazy busy, it still is but in a different kind of way.
Everyone has a part a job to do. When you have good you have evil, its called balance. Zen is the balance, but he doesn't see it that way and really not too many other people do either. Two sides of one whole.
When a human female comes into There always seems to be someone in the background remaking or reshaping your life. When a human female comes into play Zen has a whole new set of issues to deal with, one being his other side awake and wanting to come out and play. But see that's where fate comes in, oh yeah and friends.. I've literally became a stalker mostly in my waiting for the next book to come out.
The story is hot and yummy with a mix of everything the draws you in and keeps you to the end. I recommend it. I received a copy of this book from Net Galley for an honest review It makes me sad to say this but I was very disappointed by this book. I really loved the cover. It had that BDB feel to it that I love. Which was the sole reason I wanted to read it. Let me first start by saying the things I liked about the book. The writing was good. It was very easy to follow along and the flow and pace were good.
I felt like the author did a great job describing the scenes and characters. I I received a copy of this book from Net Galley for an honest review It makes me sad to say this but I was very disappointed by this book. The characters were just so similar. Even their names were similar. I also think that 3 chapters in a row of nothing but sex was a bit to much. This being said…if you have never read SK or The Warden, then you will probably love this book.
Although I had never read the first book in this series, I wanted to give it a try because of how interesting it sounded. Granted at first I was so lost it was ridiculous, but after awhile I felt I knew enough to be caught up. From then on I must say it was an adventure on so many different levels. The Gods and Goddesses are so real, it was like I could see them, however there were a LOT of characters in the book and at times it does get tiring.
Zeniel and Evesse have such a chemistry and the pa Although I had never read the first book in this series, I wanted to give it a try because of how interesting it sounded. Zeniel and Evesse have such a chemistry and the passion they exude for each other I just gotta say yummy!!!
The way the author describes Zen just made me drool most of the time.. Why can't my hubby look like that I ask you lol!! Just kidding!!! But seriously I loved this book and the way the author wrote it is just incredible. Once I got going I had a hard time putting it down and my family had a hard time getting my attention out of my Kindle lol. Totally worth it!!! I did receive this book from NetGalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion.
Book 2 in the szolite series, it's a sexy read. I have to admit I found the to be too many characters in this book, I get round that by concentrating on the main characthers and taking in as much of the extras as possible. I wonder sometimes if I didn't have kids distracting me I'd be able to absorb all the characthers I don't know. That's my neutral point out the way. Wow does this lady weave a story or what When you Book 2 in the szolite series, it's a sexy read.
When you put them together you get a passion explosion, long extended sex scenes with lush descriptions of Zens body. It's not all sex though, it's about the development of there relationship, Eves background and Zens split personality and lots more. We also get more of book ones couple ismini and Dyletri, who are still at it like rabbits. A good read, you may need a change of underwear though I received a copy of this book from Net Galley for an honest review Again the is a steamy, erotic read.
I feel again that this 2nd book although fared better than the 1st, it's not for me. Don't let me put you off as your opinion may very well differ I received a copy of this book from Net Galley for an honest review Again the is a steamy, erotic read. Don't let me put you off as your opinion may very well differ Blood Stained Tranquility is an action-packed and well written book.
Generally the pace was good, I was kept entertained and the story held my attention through out. Over all I enjoyed this book and fully intend to continue with the series, but I did have a couple of issues with it. The first one was a sex scene that went on for a ridiculously long time. On a positive though, it allowed Zen and Eve to talk and get to know more about each other, which was something we didn't see with Dy and Ismini in Book 1.
The second problem was that whilst the separate books are linked both by characters and the impending war with the Aviraji, this book didn't seem to have a real focus. These books remind me somewhat of Elizabeth Norton's Eternal Guardians series - albeit these are a much steamier read.
This is where I find the Ryze series a little lacking. There are some awesome battle scenes and plenty of intrigue in this story, but for me everything in the book should feel like it is leading up to a big showdown of some description which in Book 1 was Ismini's impending sacrifice. Instead it felt like events happened randomly rather than as part of a sequence of events. What could have been a 3rd issue is feeling like information is being held back.
I think I may have been too close to Ismini because I'm "in flux" over whether I love or hate Nylicia! We got to know quite a bit more about some of the other main characters, and clearly there are several more couples at least being lined up for future stories.
Despite feeling the story lack enough direction, over all I enjoyed this more than Book 1. It may be just that I'm getting more familiar with, and comfortable in, this new world, but I also felt that the characters were more rounded and there was more depth to them. I would recommend this book.
The blurb for this book is so well written, I am not going to try and do it better I will just jump right into my review. Three were dark brown, one was navy blue with very familiar cuffs around its front legs, and two were black. She recognized them by their auras. Even as her brain refused to believe it, her powers recognized who the last one was.
Zen came up to a stop next to her. After all. The information download was instant and just as invasive as before. Details playing at breakneck speeds. The story played out behind a red lens, and in less than a second, she saw it all. The latter was worse than the former. Looking away, she turned to Zen. Everyone else is fair game. Evesse shot Makayla a look.
Me, too. No mouths. Just red slits for eyes. They were almost as wide as they were tall. Their heads, hands, and feet were disproportionately large. Then they started running, heading for she could only guess where. The Sesengts, she finally realized. There were almost a thousand of them, maybe more, all wearing the same armor Xreak had been wearing.
Spread out all over the battle, they took on ceFtuts and other beings that resembled Enteax and Lisrn. One Sesengt almost got run over. A female. She jumped into the air, her long purple hair flowing behind her. The creature managed to grab her and the sound of her body and armor being crushed seemed to echo above the sounds of battle. Just go! A blink of an eye later, she was crouched on the shoulders of that thing, materializing two swords and sliding both into its head. It dropped the female guardian it had been holding, its back arching into a deep C and its wide hands coming at her.
Eve pushed her boots into its shoulders, pulled back on the blades, and dangled her upper body out of reach. Blood gushed as she jumped back down to the ground. Even with half its head sliced open, and its brains spilling out in a wet slushy mess, it flopped around, its hand grasping for her. One slice, two. That neck was chopped up like a thick roll of sushi, until the head was disconnected and promptly kicked, like a football, out of sight.
The purple-haired Sesengt turned and gave Eve a smile, her gray eyes crinkling at the corners. These nasty things are the Refluths.
Killing them is super simple. Take the head off entirely and get it away from the body. Thanks by the way. Another Refluth came to a stop before Eve, blasting her with air in the face. Fucking hell. Huffing, she pushed her hair out of her face, and met that red-eyed stare head on. You got a problem, you piece of shit? Too-big fingers flexed, curling into fists. Eve tilted her head, allowing her senses to expand.
And e xactly what she needed to get her powers in gear. The creature slid one leg back, getting into position, looking like a bull ready to go. She let loose her powers, condemning it. Black and red mist collided into the creature like a smoke bomb going off. The wraiths had been lying in wait inside it, and at the moment of contact, they began to shred. She flipped around, trying to find him, trying to see above the flying debris and smoke. He was nowhere to be seen, but when she turned back around, the Refluth was falling backward, its skin being ripped off by the wraiths, and the mist swirling around it like a typhoon.
There was another one right behind it, running straight for her. She raised her sword, pointing at its head. Its entire body was suspended in the air for a brief moment, its gigantic feet pointing toe-up toward the sky, before all eight-hundred pounds of it met the concrete with the kind of bang that shook whole buildings.
Then the wraiths went happily to work, and Eve realized those fuckers were growing on her. Hell, anything that rushed to obey her commands happily deserved a pat on the head, at the very least.
